The life of the boy Guimarães Rosa
João Guimarães Rosa was a very smart boy, as were most of CHC's readers. Before being one of the greatest Brazilian writers, he lived a simple life on a farm in the interior of Minas Gerais. He was born in 1908 and died in 1967, but he left his work alive and admired by many.
He was an enchanted boy. Charming? No, delighted indeed. Since he was little, João was bewitched by the word or by many of them together on paper. He created novels that give free rein to our imaginations. Most are set in the sertão, the rural area that marked his childhood, among oxen and cowboys, when he loved to read and collect insects.
How about taking a step back in time to meet this respected writer?
