The head gets heavy, the eyes don't stop open, the movements become slow… Gradually, you're disconnecting from everything and you hardly hear the TV or the voices of the people around you anymore. It's time to go to bed!
Sleeping feels good. So much so that it makes you feel lazy to wake up in the morning. Falling asleep is also important for health, as it helps you to rest and recharge your energy. Also, while we sleep, many things happen in our body.
The senses work, but the brain reacts less to stimuli. ____________, if you have a skin feeling or smell, it can influence your dreams.
The eyelids close to keep out light. We are programmed to rest when it's dark.
Breathing slows down. With the organs working slowly we need less oxygen.
The ears practically shut down. We only hear very loud sounds, like the alarm clock ringing.
The body releases more substances that stimulate growth and renew cells.
The body temperature drops and we feel a little cold.
