The wave is basically composed of three parts: the crest, the trough and the breaking area. The crest is the highest part of the wave, the trough is the base of the structure that supports the wave and the breaking area, as the name implies, is where the wave usually breaks. This is the ideal area to practice one of the most popular water sports in Brazil: surfing. Surfing is really fun, but like any sport we need to be careful.
