It was like this: the animals in the woods until they were busy and calm about their duties, because the animal's duty is to exist. But that's when a rumor appeared in the air, which soon spread good news in a wild talk. This rumor came from the song of the thrush. As the sabiá, as far as is known, sings for the mere pleasure of singing, the animals were in doubt as to whether it was true or not.
And – suddenly – it started to rain an invitation to such a bash. Whoever invited him didn't say who he was, but everyone suspected that the idea came from the queen of the Brazilian jungles, the jaguar, the bigwig that he was. All the animals were invited, ensuring that ferocity would be abolished at the time. Even the mother-owl, who was so serious and wise, even wore glasses, was invited with her cubs.
As for the monkey's daughters, eager to date and finally get married, they adorned themselves so much and with so many trinkets that they looked like some – that's right, they looked like real monkeys. And whoever thinks that the snake was missing because it was so disgusting is wrong: it appeared making salamales with a slippery body to attract attention.
The night was lit up by thousands of fireflies, the silent moon and the wet stars. As for the orchestra, rest assured that it was of the best quality: a group of toucans undertook to play the most beautiful grunts of the forest in a waltz.
