Juquinha is going to camp

Juquinha was going with his family and neighbors. They camped on an island in the Great Lake every year. He loved swimming in the lake with his little friends and taking boat trips! Mom, Dad, Juquinha and their neighbors – Uncle and Aunt Silveira with the twins Bruna and André – would all be on vacation for a whole week. The twins were her best friends. Gosh! What fun they would have together! Before the holidays, everyone was preparing for the trip. Dad was baking cookies in the kitchen.

– Would you like to help, Juquinha? asked Dad.
And so the little boy helped his father break eggs into the cookie dough. Mom was packing. And Juquinha helped her too, giving her her clothes and her camping toys. He even reminded Titio Silveira to take the tents for the trip. Soon, they would all be leaving on a wonderful sunny morning. As soon as they arrived at the campsite, Juquinha helped his father and Titio Silveira to set up the tents. He gave them all the tent pins. And then he helped Bruna and André gather dry sticks for the campfire. What fun the kids had swimming and playing in the lake! The best thing was the daily boat trips. As a special gift for being so helpful, Dad let Juquinha drive the boat with him every day! Juquinha is a helpful child!
