Last Tuesday, January 31st, the Ministry of Sports opened enrollment for athletes who want to apply for the Sports Scholarship. The closing of registrations is scheduled for the 17th and the whole process will be done online. Athletes will be able to access the website https://www.gov.br/cidadania/pt-br/acoes-e-programas/bolsa-atleta/inscricoes to apply and the same means digital will be used for accession and delivery of documents. Ana Moser, Minister of Sports, announced the opening of the public notice.
The government's investment for this category will be R$ 82 million, contemplating around 6,419 athletes as of the last information. The minimum transfer is R$370 and the maximum is R$3,100, depending on the category. The Athlete Scholarship is divided into Base (292), International (847), Paralympic/Olympic (245), Student (241) and National (4,794) categories.

The Minister of Sports, Ana Moser, commented on the importance of transfers to athletes:
“The Bolsa Atleta is one of the most important policies of the Ministry of Sport and benefits thousands of Brazilian athletes who need this support to maintain training, preparation and to keep moving forward in their careers sports. With the incentive, they will continue to represent Brazil in international competitions and practice high performance sport in Brazil”, she said.

In the last competition of the Olympic Games, held in Tokyo, 80% of the athletes in the Brazilian team received the Bolsa Atleta. Brazil won 21 medals during the Olympic competition. Among seven others, six silvers and eight bronzes, 19 of the podiums were for athletes who received the Bolsa Atleta transfer.
In the Paralympic competition, 95% of the competitors representing Brazil received help to compete. There were 72 medals won, with 22 golds, 20 silvers and 30 bronzes, and 68 achievements were from athletes who receive transfers from the Ministry of Sports.
