Like it or not, Bill Gates is a well-known and important name worldwide. The creator of Microsoft is one of the greatest exponents of technology and has an active voice regarding the recent advances that this sector has made in recent months.
More than that, Gates is also known for "predictions" about the next steps of humanity. Just to cite one example, even in 2015 he already warned about a possible pandemic.

Technology has advanced at a leopard's pace in recent months. Note that we are talking about months, not years. In this period, we mainly saw the growing use of artificial intelligence for simple and complex day-to-day activities.
“We are in the early days of an era dominated by autonomy [of activities],” said Bill Gates. "But I can wait to see the new possibilities."
For the founder of Microsoft
“[The vehicles] will allow the driver to take their hands off the steering wheel and let the system drive under certain circumstances,” he underlined.
According to him, almost all the technology for this – and much more – has already been invented. What needs to be done now is to refine the algorithms and improve the engineering of inventions.
Despite the speed at which things evolve, Gates does not believe that everything will happen overnight. For him, the changes will be gradual and that we will be the last to take advantage of vehicle automation.
The businessman believes that, first, the technology will be used for long-distance transport in the first sector. It will then be used to make delivery. Only then will human beings let a car drive for them.
Bill also says he looks forward to this moment in history. “If you, like me, travel by car, think about the time you waste driving”, he reflects. According to him, autonomous cars can help us to reuse this time.
Imagine yourself reading a book, sending emails or getting some work done while an artificial intelligence does the boring job of accelerating and braking. Makes you want it, doesn't it?
