“The more we read, the more words we know. And life gets easier”. Have you ever stopped to think about it? How important is it to know new words and communicate better and better with the world?
The phrase was taken from the play the boy who sold words, based on the book by Ignácio de Loyola Brandão, which gives the show its name. The story is about Pablo, son of a very cultured man, played by actor Eduardo Moscovis. One day Pablo invites all his friends to go to his house to ask his father the meaning of some words. Utopia, lunatic, run-down, cornucopia… each one wanted to know something. And that's how the boy realizes that he could sell words to his friends.
Until one day, Pablo discovers a word that neither he nor his father knew. It's really worth watching the show. You learn new words and leave wanting to read more than ever.
The direction is by Cristina Moura and the dramaturgy is by Pedro Bricio. The season runs until November 20 at the Teatro Shopping Frei Caneca (Rua Frei Caneca, 569, 6th floor), on Saturdays and Sundays, at 4 pm. Tickets cost R$50 and R$25 (half ticket). Whoever takes a children's book as a donation, gets a 50% discount on the ticket price.
