Ivo's contraption

– I'm so anxious! – exclaims the monkey Ivo.
He had been working hard for several days, building something in the backyard.
Today, finally, it ended.
– My own catapult! – he fills his lungs with air, looking at his strange wooden device. It has a flat piece that holds something you want to throw and a complicated cluster of pieces that make the throw.
– Time for the test! – Ivo tells himself. – I'm just wondering if it will work!

– But what should I use to shoot? - he asks.
Ivo looks around the yard and sees a long row of tomatoes growing in the garden.
– Aha! Perfect! - He looks for a basket and fills it with tomatoes still green and hard. “Anyway, I can't eat all these tomatoes,” he thinks. "So, just a few tomatoes that are still green will suffice."
– There you go! - He says puts a green tomato on the rack.
He pulls the lever back and releases it.
The tomato flies out of sight, high above the roof.
- Wow! It worked! – he celebrates. – Nothing I've done has ever worked!
He sends the green tomatoes high, far into the sky. After taking the last one out, he sits down to admire his machine.
'I wonder how far they got before they fell,' he reflects. Ivo will soon find out.
