The program aims to present concepts of astronomy, geophysics and meteorology to participants. Classes of up to 40 students will be served, ranging from the 9th year of elementary school to the 3rd year of high school.
In Projeto Cecília, the selected schools will have the opportunity to organize classes with a minimum number of 20 and a maximum of 40 students.
To ensure an enriching learning experience, each class will be accompanied by up to two teachers. These will have the important task of organizing the group and encouraging the active participation of students.
One way of recognizing the engagement and dedication of students is through the “Apprentice Scientist” certificate.
Students who complete the tasks proposed in the program will receive this certificate, which will prove their participation and learning.
In addition, the teachers employees will also be awarded certificates as a form of recognition for their support and contribution to the project.
During the period of 'Cecilia's Cycle', held online, the selected classes will have the opportunity to engage in simple challenges and experiments, using resources available in their own homes.
To guide and support the participants, who are young scientists, students from the IAG and the Institute of Physics (IF) at USP will be responsible for sending daily challenges to students.
The proposed activities will take place over two weeks, with daily challenges that will allow students explore astronomy, geophysics and meteorology concepts in a practical and interactive way.
Participating teachers and students must have internet access through devices such as cell phone, desktop or notebook computer, as the activities will be conducted through the platform Discord.
To the registrationsare open until the 19th of July and can be done through a form available on the official website of the IAG.
This is an unmissable opportunity for anyone interested in exploring the fascinating world of astronomy and related sciences. Don't miss this chance and secure your spot at Project Cecília!
