NBA stars Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James raised their voices in this Wednesday (14) against violence and racism in the United States, during the presentation of the ESPY awards to the athletes.
“We cannot ignore the reality of what is happening now in the United States. The events of the past few weeks have demonstrated the injustice, mistrust and anger that affects so many,” New York Knicks star Anthony said during the ESPN ceremony.
“The system is broken, the problems are not new, violence is not a new phenomenon, the division Racial is definitely not something new, but it has never been more urgent to change things," he said. Anthony.

“This has to stop. As sportsmen, we must do more than we already do (…), it won't always be easy, but it's necessary”, declared Wade, who recently joined the Chicago Bulls.
“Let's take advantage of what is happening right now to call all professional athletes to act, make their voices, their influence against all forms of violence…”, pointed out James, the star of the current NBA champion, Cleveland Cavaliers.
