The hare and the turtle

One day a tortoise began to boast saying that it was running too fast, that the hare was too soft, and while talking the tortoise laughed at the hare. But the hare was really impressed when the turtle decided to bet a race with it.

“It must be just for fun!” thought the hare.

The fox was the judge and took the bets. The race began, and at the same time, of course, the hare passed the tortoise. The day was hot. So, halfway there, the hare had the idea to play a little. After playing, she decided to take a nap in the cool shade of a tree.

“If by chance the turtle passes me, just run a little and I'm ahead again”, she thought.

The hare didn't think she was going to lose that race at all. Meanwhile, there came the turtle in its own way, dragging its feet, always at the same speed, not resting even once, just thinking about the arrival. Why, the hare slept so much that he forgot to pay attention to the tortoise. When she woke up, where was the turtle? Well, the hare got up and whizzed off, but it was no use. In the distance she saw the turtle waiting for her at the finish line.

Moral: Slow and always get ahead.
