An eight-year-old Swede made a great discovery for the history of mankind: she found a sword that would have been made 1,500 years ago.
The object was found by Saga Vanecek in a lake in Jönköping county, Sweden. Due to the dry climate, the water level was extremely low, which helped Saga find the object.
“I felt something in the water and got up. It had a handle and I told my father it looked like a sword,” the girl told Sveriges radio.
After the discovery, Saga's father took the artifact to Swedish researchers, who discovered that the sword belonged to civilizations that lived in the region before the Vikings.
Now, the object will be taken to the Jönköpings Läns Museum in Sweden. According to experts, the sword is very well preserved.
