Okra

Quite popular on the table of Brazilians, okra became part of Brazilian cuisine during the period of slavery and was soon incorporated into our diet. Today, it is an indispensable ingredient in many typical dishes from different regions of the country. Who doesn't know the caruru, okra cooked with dried shrimp? Or the chicken with okra and also the stew of meat with okra, typical dishes from Minas Gerais?
