As imagined, each company will be responsible for its field of activity. That is, Honda will be responsible for the model's production, design and development, while Sony will be responsible for the vehicle's platform and system.
Sony wants to innovate and show its potential in technology and creativity, since lately it ended up losing space in the market. Honda, in turn, intends to join the advances in the automotive sector, aiming at a sustainable market for electric vehicles, and guaranteeing its space in the market of the future.
Thus, according to Toshiro Mibe, Honda's CEO, they took advantage of the company's state-of-the-art technology and know-how in relation to the environment. Thus, the objective is to align the main skills of the companies to build a technological, modern and sustainable vehicle.
The electric car market is something for the future. And Sony already sees this segment as advantageous, showing its interest in entering the automotive sector for a long time. At CES 2020, for example, the company presented its electric car prototype.
Honda, however, already has a joint venture with General Motors for the production of electric vehicles. In Brazil, for example, there is already the commercialization of the electric model Honda E.
The union of these two giants promises to innovate and heat up the electric car market. So, we hope that, with the large offer, the prices will be competitive and many people will have access to these vehicles.
