Palacio das Artes gets new gallery
After undergoing works, the Espaço Mari’Stella Tristão, in the Palacio das Artes (Afonso Pena, 1537 Av.), gains the status of a Gallery. The inauguration is this Tuesday (29th) with the exhibition “Recorte – Clovis Salgado Foundation Collection”, which brings together more than 30 works including paintings, engravings and a sculpture, contemplating modernist and contemporary works, by names such as Amilcar de Castro, Genesco Murta and Arlinda Corrêa Lime. Free visits until Saturday (2), from 10am to 9pm.
For Augusto Nunes-Filho, president of the Clovis Salgado Foundation, the institution is always in great demand by artists for its location, visibility and excellence in the arts, but, nevertheless, the former Espaço Mari’Stella Tristão responded in a precarious way to the demands with repeated complaints that there were not enough walls for the exhibition of the construction. “Now, the artists will have a better quality space, with one of the three walls created measuring 20 meters”, he emphasizes.
