the lion and the mouse

The lion, satisfied after a hunt, found a beautiful, shady place to rest. A mouse wanting to escape the sharp claws of a hawk needed to find a hiding place quickly. The mouse ran so quickly across the savannah that it didn't even notice it leapt over the head of a sleepy lion. The hawk could have grabbed him, but he left. The mouse felt relieved, but for a very short time. Upon realizing that it was on the head of a lion, the frightened mouse wanted to get out of there even faster. Just then, to the mouse's misfortune, the lion woke up and leapt at him, trapping him by the tail. The lion was ready to devour him, when the mouse pleaded desperately:

– Please, lord king of the forest, spare my life. For that kindness, one day I will be able to repay you. Please let me go!
The lion sneered and thought, "How could a poor mouse repay a lion for his life?" But since he was not hungry, he let him go. A few days later, the lion was quietly passing under a tree when a hunting net fell on him. The network was too strong. He couldn't let go of her. The lion roared loudly, to get the attention of other lions in the vicinity. The mouse, which was not so far away, heard the lion's roar and recognized it immediately. She ran to where she heard the roaring, for he needed to repay the kindness the lion had once shown her by sparing her life. Upon seeing the lion in a hunting trap, the mouse quickly gnawed the ropes and managed to free it. Then he said to the lion:
– The lion lord thought that a mouse could never save his life. Now he knows this is entirely possible.
The lion thanked the mouse and the two friends realized that they could live as great allies from now on.
