Acid rain is one of the main consequences of air pollution. Burning coal or oil releases gaseous residues such as nitrogen and sulfur oxides. The reaction of these substances with water forms nitric acid and sulfuric acid, present in acid rain precipitation. This phenomenon has grown significantly in countries undergoing an industrialization process, such as Brazil, Russia, China, Mexico and India. Great Britain and Germany being the two countries with the greatest interest in ending acid rain.
