First of all, it is important to mention that the remuneration varies a lot, according to the number of hours worked, the destination of passengers and the demand for the service, which is greater in some periods than in others. In addition, Uber charges a fee that can correspond to up to 40% of the value of each trip made by the driver.
On the company's website, there is an estimate of the financial return for drivers according to the number of hours worked, based on the tariffs applied in the city of Blumenau (SC). Who works for 50 hours a week, for example, receives about R$ 1,836 per week.
With the increase in fuel prices, many Uber drivers work up to 60 hours a week (which is an average of 12 hours a day) to earn a return of BRL 3,000 per month. That is, currently those who want to increase their salary running as an app driver need to face exhausting journeys.
It should also be noted that there are additional expenses for which the driver is responsible, which can reduce profit at the end of the month. Examples of these expenses are changing oil and tyres, gasoline, paying IPVA, among other possible expenses with vehicle maintenance.
Despite the hardships associated drivers have been going through, Uber ended the second quarter of this year with a cash flow free in the amount of U$ 382 million, surpassing the expectations made by analysts, who estimated a return of approximately R$ 263.2 millions. This result was attributed to the increased demand for the service now that the pandemic situation is more under control.
