“Two burgers, lettuce, cheese, special sauce, onion and pickles, on a sesame seed bun.” Did you recognize the song? It is the most famous jingle of the Big Mac, flagship of the McDonalds all around the world. The classic recipe may no longer serve the sandwich from now on, according to a recent announcement by the fast food chain.
Last Monday, April 17, Méqui's Director of Culinary Innovation, Chad Schafer, announced that they are working on “improvements” to some of the sandwiches on the menu. The changes will impact the Big Mac, Cheeseburger and Double Cheeseburger.

“The bread will be softer, the cheese will be more melted and there will be more special sauce in the Big Mac,” Schafer said.
According to him, the sandwiches will be tastier and, with that, the company hopes to have better results. One of the examples cited is cheese. According to the statement, adjustments were made to melt it better and improve its flavor.
These snack changes are already being tested in some markets. Also according to the statement made by Mc Donald's, sandwiches in Canada, Australia and Belgium have already started to be made with these changes.
Later this year, the fast food company intends to start implementing these changes in the United States, which is undoubtedly one of the company's biggest markets. The idea is that by 2024, all American chains in the country will already be using the new sandwich recipes.
For the time being, there is still no prediction of the “upgrade” of the Big Mac and the other changes in Méqui's classics here in Brazil. Until then, we'll keep savoring the classic recipes.
