The tests are being developed through a partnership between Perkon and the Traffic Superintendence (Setran). This technology aims to measure speed, in addition to detecting noise that is considered excessive. This happens when you exceed 90 decibels.
In France, a system similar to this one has been tested in cities across the European country. One of them is on the Yveline road, which is located west of Paris. The mission is to reduce excessive noise that disrupts traffic.
According to an analysis of data collected through the use of images and videos, the device will be able to fine the driver when he exceeds the limit and noise level allowed. Here in Brazil, the tests have already started on Avenida Victor Ferreira do Amaral, which is located in the Tarumã neighborhood of the capital of Pará.
The intention to put this initiative into practice began with the large number of complaints to the City Council regarding the noise of a large number of cars and motorcycles. This is explained by Rosangela Battistella, who is in charge of Transit Superintendent of Curitiba.
After collecting the data, it will be possible to design a diagnosis on the vehicles at the location, especially at times when noise pollution is more intense.
“Based on the behavioral profile information of these drivers, we will be able to identify the time of greatest incidence and the type of vehicle so that we can act with educational blitzes and also with inspection”, explained the superintendent. It is worth noting that this is just a test. No fines will be generated.
No points will be applied to drivers' licenses. drivers that exceed more than 90 decibels on the radar yet, as approval from the National Institute of Metrology, Inmetro (Quality and Technology) and also the processing of regulations by the National Council for the Environment (Conama) and the National Traffic Council (Contran) to that.
