Since 2019, Netflix tuition has not been readjusted. On the other hand, authorial productions and authorized reproductions increased in volume and quality. This is the company's justification for explaining the reason for the tariff increase.
In a note, Netflix says that “we will continue to offer the best content, between movies and series, in addition to a wide variety of genres […]. We offer several plans, starting at R$25.90 per month, so that people can choose a price that suits their needs”.
Despite the R$ 55.90 portion frightening subscribers, it will be the most expensive within the services. The basic plan will continue with a more affordable value, being the one with the lowest readjustment of all. The percentage increases vary between 18.2% and 21.7%.
– Basic Plan: BRL 25.90 (the previous price was BRL 21.90). The increase suffered was 18.2%;
– Standard Plan: BRL 39.90 (the previous price was BRL 32.90). The increase suffered was 21.2%;
– Premium Plan: BRL 55.90 (the previous price was BRL 45.90). The increase suffered was 21.7%.
Initially, the readjusted amounts will be charged to new subscribers. According to Netflix, existing subscribers will still pay the old prices.
For old users, an e-mail will be sent announcing the tariff readjustment. The notice will be issued gradually over the next 30 days. Therefore, customers can still redo the accounts and decide whether it is worth keeping the service or not. It is worth noting that Netflix is still the largest subscription streaming service in the country.
