The Spoon Biohz is the first product in the company's sustainable line, and it emerged as the most widely used disposable utensil. According to Innovapack's Commercial Director, Cláudio Gonçalves, the model is different from others found around the world, as it has an ergonomic and more durable handle. To arrive at this model, many tests were carried out, which contributed to the resistance and durability of the object.
This is a great alternative to plastic spoons, which take about 400 years to decompose in nature. “Single-use plastics represent a serious problem to be solved worldwide. We need to replace these items, and the cardboard spoon is the first of several products that will be added to the Biohz line. Thus, we focus on the development and manufacture of innovative, functional, disruptive, recyclable and ecologically correct at competitive prices", said Marcelo Gaspar, who is General Director from the company.
The estimate is that 35 million spoons are sold in São Paulo in the first year. According to the company, the price of the utensil will compete with those already available on the market, whether made of plastic or bamboo.
The spoon was already launched in Argentina last year, and was very well accepted by consumers, even winning the Red Dot Award for its design. The making of the product relies on a special machine, responsible for molding and gluing the spoon until it reaches its final shape.
