What Brazilian drivers most expect today is a decrease in the price of gasoline. However, according to the ANP, fuel prices had their first drop of the year between March 20th and 26th. Drivers have not yet felt this decrease and continue to complain about the cost of fuel.

The National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP) carried out a survey to assess all fuel prices in the country. According to the survey, gasoline was 0.78% cheaper, while diesel reduced by around 1.14%.
Drivers, however, claim that this drop did not appear at any of the stations. Gasoline was R$7.21, and diesel, R$6.674. However, with so many increases, a small drop is rarely felt.
Thus, despite the reduction, diesel is 18% more expensive than the previous month. The fall is very relative in the face of price volatility, even more so with the influence of crises and external factors that directly interfere with commodities.
Last month, after a few months sustaining the price of pumps, Petrobras passed on fuel prices. Gasoline, for example, increased by around 18.8%, and diesel, by 24.9%.
In this context, one of the main causes for these constant increases is the serious oil crisis that has been taking place in the world. Despite Brazil being a self-sufficient country in oil production, the value of a barrel is quoted in dollars. Thus, to follow the world market, it is necessary to increase prices.
Thus, the law of supply and demand intensifies fuel prices. The impacts of the war between Ukraine and Russia end up being felt here in Brazil. As Russia, the world's leading oil producer, suffers from sanctions, it restricts its oil to the world.
