Due to its great success, several productions had to be shown again due to public outcry. Check out our list of the most rerun soap operas on Brazilian TV.
1. These Women (2005)
Novel based on the work of author José de Alencar, having been premiered in 2005 on Record. The soap opera was quite successful and was repeated in 2007, by the broadcaster itself, in 2007 and 2008 on the Fox Life channel, and in 2013 on the Rede Família channel.
2. Carousel (1991-1992)
The famous Mexican children's soap opera was first shown in 1991 on the SBT channel. The success was so great that the soap opera was repeated in 1993, 1995, 1996 and won a new version in 2012, with famous actors like Larissa Manoela and Maísa Silva.
3. The Journey (1994)
The successful plot of TV Globo had its reprise 3 years after the original launch, in 1994. It was broadcast on the TV Globo rerun program, Vale a pena ver de novo, in 1994 and 2006. On the Viva channel, the plot was shown in 2014 and should receive a new version in the future.
4. Pantanal
Pantanal had its first success on the former TV Manchete, shown in 1990 for the first time. It was so successful that in the following years, 1991 and 1992, it was repeated. The rights were sold in 2000 to Rede TV, but the station did not show the telenovela.
In 2008 and 2009, the plot aired on SBT channels, which had bought the rights. Recently, in 2020, Rede Globo announced a remake of the work, which began to be shown on its channels in 2022.
5. The usurper
Perhaps the most successful plot of the SBT channel, shown for the first time in 1999. It has had other exhibitions in 2000, 2005, 2007, 2013, 2015 and 2016. With that, this Mexican telenovela won the title of most aired telenovela in the history of Brazilian TV.
