PIS/PASEP

At the height of the pandemic, the Bolsonaro government withheld wage bonus amounts, claiming serious spending on disease control measures and to recover the country's economy. Thus, the 2020 amounts were only paid again the following year.

Thus, some workers had to wait longer, as people who worked in 2020 could only receive it now. Those who worked in 2021 will only be able to receive it next year, as the government has postponed payment and has no plans to resume installments for now.

In a way, this affects the lives of workers who rely on this money to carry out some demand, such as buying new furniture, paying off debts or investing in home renovations.

If you worked in the years prior to the pandemic, check the possibility of receiving and how to withdraw PIS/PASEP. Check it out below.

Who is entitled and how to receive?

The PIS/PASEP is a wage bonus offered by both the private and public networks to workers who meet the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in the PIS/Pasep for at least five years;
  • Have received, on average, up to two minimum wages per month in the year considered for calculation;
  • Have performed paid activity for a legal entity for at least 30 consecutive days in the base year;
  • Have the data correctly informed by the company in the RAIS (Annual Social Information List)/eSocial.

If you meet these criteria and want to know more about the benefit, call 158 or access the Digital Work Card application.
