Changes are important for everything, even more so when they aim at some improvement in a certain aspect. In this context, the new RG is a model of change to ensure more security and convenience for citizens.
In general, the novelty that most impacts is the combination of RG and CPF numbers into a single one. This was established with the aim of preventing fraud, and so that people would have an RG number for each state.
In addition, the new document also has a digital version valid throughout the national territory. Its differential is a QR Code that allows verification of the authenticity of the document even without internet access.
The new identity was launched in February and is already available in states like São Paulo. But calm down, because the exchange will not be mandatory, as long as your identity is within the valid period of 10 years.
Only people over the age of 60 will need to make the exchange for registration security reasons. In this case, if you are over 60 and reside in the state of São Paulo, look for a service center or download the Poupatempo application.
