The device would have a display with micro OLED technology, which would be revolutionary, after all the panels today have the already common LCD and OLED. Therefore, its resolution would be higher and would have greater performance, as well as, it would have a smaller thickness and less energy expenditure.
According to the Nikkei Asia portal, the Apple brand would be working together with the company TSMC to produce the micro OLED panel. This same company is responsible for manufacturing the processors for iPhones and iPads available on the market. The company is also involved in the production of the new M1 chip in Mac computers.
This corporate friendship has been narrowed precisely by TSMC's vast experience in the development and production of super small and very high quality devices.
What is expected is that Apple Glasses will be similar to common glasses, but with displays that will show information like a smartphone. You'll be able to see messages, notifications from different apps and even directions from maps, all that and much more, right on the lens.
But these objects, to be comfortable, will need to be thin and light, which will require an ultra-small screen. The micro OLED panels being tested are less than an inch.
For now, the project has been produced in total secrecy, in a laboratory complex located in the city of Taoyuan, which is in Taiwan. According to the Nikkei Asia portal, the structure similar to a building is completely white and without any type of identification or name on the facade. It only has a small bitten apple, the traditional logo of the Apple brand, at its reception.
Still with information from the Nikkei Asia portal, those who agreed to work on this project had to sign a contract containing super strict secrecy agreements that guarantee non-disclosure of what is produced there.
