NAME:
Once upon a time there was a king who only liked to hear good news.
Messengers came daily with news from all over the kingdom and were amply rewarded when they had good things to say.
If they happened to have a message that wasn't pleasant, the king would dismiss them!
One day, a messenger arrived in the kingdom with an urgent message that the enemy was advancing. The king refused to listen to him fully and continued in his cheerful manner. He summoned the jesters and the magicians and entertained himself all day.
When at last the enemy approached and the king could see the campfires near his gates, he became afraid and began to cry. What cowardly behavior!
His people had to put him in the dungeon and fight the enemy alone. After the battle was won, they elected a new king, only now a brave one, who got the bad news along with the good!
