Mother's Day is celebrated here in Brazil on the second Sunday in May. The second Sunday in May is Mother's Day.
The date came due to the suffering of an American who, after losing her mother, went through a depressive process. Anna M's closest friends. Jarvis, to free her from such suffering, paid tribute to her mother, who had worked in the country's civil war. The party was so successful that in 1914, President Thomas Woodrow Wilson made the date official, and the celebration spread throughout the world.
Mothers are honored from the earliest times. The Greek peoples commemorated the mother of the gods, Rhea. In the Middle Ages, workers who lived far from their families were given a day to visit their mothers, which the English called “mothering day”.
A mother is the woman who generates and gives birth to a child, but she can also be the one who raises a loved one as if she were her father, giving him affection and protection.

Mothers deserve respect and a lot of love from their children, as they do everything to please them, suffer with their suffering and want them to be always well.
Over the years, Mother's Day has heated up commerce around the world, as children always buy gifts to please them and to thank them for all the affection and dedication they receive throughout the life.
In different parts of the world, the celebration takes place on different days. In Norway it is celebrated on the second Sunday in February; in South Africa and Portugal, on the first Sunday in May; in Sweden, on the fourth Sunday in May; in Mexico it is a fixed date, May 10th. In Thailand, on August 12th, in celebration of Queen Mom Rajawongse Sirikit's birthday. In Israel there is no proper day for mothers, but a day for the family.
In Brazil, as well as in the United States, Japan, Turkey and Italy, the date is celebrated on the second Sunday in May. Here, the date was instituted by the Christian association of young men, in May 1918, being made official by President Getúlio Vargas, in the year of 1932.
