In Mongolia, for example, the most consumed type of protein is that of sheep and goats. It is approximately 66 kg per year.
The explanation is cultural. The taste for this type of meat comes from the construction heritage of the country, a place where there were many skilled shepherds.
And, an addendum: this type of protein is also very popular in Brazil, it's just not as easy to find as a rump steak roast or a bird chicken, for example.
As for game meat, Papua New Guinea leads the ranking. This is the country that most produces this type of food in the world. Among the meats, we highlight wild deer and wild boar.
However, kangaroos, bandicoots (no, not Crash from the PlayStation!) and other marsupials are also consumed.
And in Mongolia, the consumption of horse meat is common. In 2020, the country produced approximately 100 thousand tons of this type of protein.
