As of April 16, the rate of R$ 14.20 for every 100 kilowatt-hours (kWh) ceases to exist throughout Brazil. This value was based on the price list of each of the companies responsible for supplying energy in the states.
Despite the more optimistic stance of the Ministry of Mines and Energy and President Jair Bolsonaro, the decrease in accounts may be less than stipulated. After all, several specialists already warn that the account should be only 5% or 6% cheaper, as opposed to the 20% that were announced.
Although the decrease in the value of energy expenditure has not been as generous as many people expected, there is reason to celebrate. Reports pointed out that Brazil managed to stock only 16% of stored energy. However, this year the reservoirs have already managed to reach 65% of the total amount of storage. Thus, the hydraulic crisis that plagued us for at least two years comes to an end.
