“The Ministry of Health works in an inter-federative logic, so we are going to discuss with the National Council of State Secretaries of Health (Conass) and the National Council of Municipal Health Secretaries (Conasems) now, on January 26, for the joint definition of this plan”, she stated her.
Nísia Trindade was also asked about the resumption of the Mais Médicos program and the replacement of investment in Popular Pharmacy.
The Mais Médicos program was among the questions asked by journalists. The minister pointed out that the program has been fragile in recent years and has caused health instability. There is no intention of the current government to update rules established by the previous government, but it has renamed the name of the program to “Doctors for Brazil”.
“We are working on an incentive vision so that Brazilian doctors can have a greater participation in this program”, she said.
As for the Popular Pharmacy, Nísia informed that the ex-president cut 59% of the budget for this year. The resumption of the full transfer was a promise made by Lula during the election campaign. With that, the minister pointed out that the transfer could be expanded, but did not give details on how this will be done.
In addition to these discussions on the agenda, it was also informed that there will be a recomposition of vaccines against Covid-19 for children. Nísia Trindade reported that she negotiated with the Butatan Institute to deliver another 2 million doses for the next few days.
