• Prince William: In France, the name was considered illegal because it would lead to the child being bullied during childhood.
• Sarah: In Morocco, parents must name their daughter Sara, as it is the Arabic form of the name. That's because Sarah with an H is associated with a Hebrew spelling.
• Friday: In Italy, the courts understand that Venerdi, in Italian means Friday, and should not be a child's name because it fits into the category of shameful or ridiculous names.
• Thor: Portugal does not allow parents to register children with names of non-Portuguese descent. Also on the list are Paris and Nirvana.
• .: In New Zealand, it is not allowed to name children with symbols such as the full stop.
• @: In China, symbols are not allowed as a name.
• 1069: In the United States, most states do not allow numbers as personal names. In 1976, a man wanted to change his name to 1069 and the Minnesota court wouldn't allow it.
