These were the 10 cities that generated the most work in Brazil

The Ministry of Labor released the list that includes the ten cities that most generated formal job openings in 2022. The first placements may not be so surprising: São Paulo, also with the largest Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Brazil, alongside Rio de Janeiro and its more than one hundred thousand vacancies.

Cities in the South, Southeast, Northeast and North of the country appear on the list. Of all the regions, the Southeast and Northeast have most of the municipalities that have gained prominence for generating opportunities.

Cities in Brazil that generated the most jobs in 2022

In the first place, as already mentioned, São Paulo is not surprised by taking this position. With the largest population in Brazil and also the highest GDP, it generated 188,000 new job openings with a formal contract. The balance closed at 131,000 vacancies, also considering the layoffs that were made last year.

In Rio de Janeiro, second on the list, 102,000 new jobs were created in 2022, considering that 82,000 remained in office. The country's capital took third place, with 46,000 jobs in 2022.

The biggest highlight was the service sector, as it was responsible for more than 50% of hiring.
