Starring Sheron Menezes and José Loreto, “Vai na Fé” is the current telenovela airing at 7 pm on Globo. Much more than a plot romantic, the serial deals with themes such as racism, sexuality and religious intolerance. In Rosane Svartman's plot, the main cast professes the evangelical religion, but others are also portrayed.

Considered one of the religions on the rise in Brazil, it is estimated that in 2032 the number of evangelicals will exceed that of people who follow the Catholic religion, according to José Eustáquio Alves, from the National School of Statistical Sciences of IBGE.
With that in mind, the 7 pm serial was created to talk about this group of people who want to see themselves represented on television. The author of the novel also decided to deal with other religions in “Vai na Fé”. On February 24, for example, she portrayed a Candomblé rite.
According to the audience that follows the African matrix religion portrayed in the soap opera, the Ajere ritual, related to the orixás Xangô and Yansã, was portrayed in a similar way to reality. From this, the public also identified and applauded the representativeness addressed in the soap opera, which is closely related to the fight against religious intolerance.

This happens because dramaturgy also has an educational role, after all, the television is still one of the main means of communication and entertainment for a good part of the population. In this way, the topics addressed can reach the public in a light and playful way, with important lessons.
Indeed, this is one of Globo's objectives with the telenovela, which initially sought to approach the more conservative public, represented by the evangelical religion. Some time later, it introduced other elements to serve as an educational source in the fight against religious intolerance that has already been denounced in the country.
Today, “Vai na Fé” is one of the soap operas with the highest audience on Globo, with 25 points on the Ibope in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, registered on February 27th. After the scene on the 24th, the soap opera also increased its engagement on social networks and continues to win over the public.
