According to information from the Spanish newspaper “El Pais”, the investigation began when it was reported that the woman was trying to practice medicine in another health center without the proper credentials.
During the seven months she was there, she worked under the supervision of a senior physician and participated in a variety of medical procedures.
Surprisingly, there were no complaints from the public during her time at the hospital, as the procedures she performed were considered straightforward and apparently successful.
Her co-workers only noticed that she used to ask a lot of questions, but this did not arouse serious suspicion.
The hospital manager, Antònia Baraldés, informed the press that the fraudster always acted carefully, asking for guidance when signing reports and prescriptions.
However, investigators soon discovered the shocking truth: the woman had no medical qualifications and was using another professional's professional registration number.

In the face of the scandal, an employee of the Human Resources department was dismissed on account of irregularities in the contract that allowed the entry of the woman, without the proper verification of the credentials.
The case is now under the jurisdiction of the police local, and the Metges de Catalunya medical union demanded stricter control of hiring procedures in hospitals to avoid similar situations.
They also called for a thorough investigation into the “chain of errors” that enabled the woman to assume the role of doctor, putting patients' health at risk.
Unfortunately, this isn't the first case of someone impersonating doctor to practice the profession illegally. In 2016, in the USA, a teenager from Florida named Malachi Love-Robinson was discovered running a doctor's office.
He had no medical training, only a high school education, so he was arrested and sentenced to more than two years in prison for theft and organized fraud scheme.
Such events raise serious questions about the need to strengthen credential verification in the hiring in hospitals and clinics, ensuring patient safety and the integrity of the profession doctor.
