The PBP was instituted in 2013 in order to reduce social and ethnic-racial inequalities. In addition, it aims to contribute to the permanence of undergraduate students from federal institutions of higher education in a situation of socioeconomic vulnerability.
Currently, the program receives applications from indigenous and quilombola students. As for the value of the aid, it is R$ 900, which is paid by the National Education Development Fund (FNDE).
Applications for this year's PBP closed on February 28th. In this sense, candidates had to access the website of the Permanence Scholarship Management System (SISBP) to register and send the requested documents.
Institutions must review this documentation proving eligibility, as well as the approval of registration in the SISBP by March 31, 2022. The distribution of vacancies will be according to the number of students enrolled and students registered in the program by institution at the end of the previous year.
