The PIS/Pasep was postponed to redirect resources from the BEm program. Thus, the payment that would be made in the second half of 2021 was postponed until next year.
Due to the postponement, the next payment of the PIS/Pasep salary bonus starts in 2022. The change in the calendar generated savings of BRL 7.45 billion for the federal government in 2021. PIS is a right paid to private sector workers. Pasep, on the other hand, is aimed at public servants.
Today in Brazil, more than 23 million workers are entitled to the PIS/Pasep benefit, according to data from the federal government. To be entitled to the salary allowance, it is necessary to receive a maximum of two minimum wages per month. In addition, you must have a formal contract and work for at least 30 days during the year prior to payment.
The worker needs to pay attention to the Annual Social Information List (Rais). This is because all employee data needs to be updated by the employer to ensure receipt of PIS/Pasep.
The amount paid for the salary allowance is up to one minimum wage. The calculation may vary according to the months worked throughout the year. That is, the payment is proportional to the worker's activity time. This time it is possible to receive double the amount due to the postponement of the transfer to 2022.
That is, for having accumulated for the following year, workers can receive up to R$ 2,420 next year. For those who receive PIS, payment is made by Caixa Econômica Federal. Pasep, on the other hand, is through Banco do Brasil.
Thus, those who receive the PIS need the Citizen Card and a password to withdraw the benefit at Caixa branches or lottery outlets. The Pasep is already deposited in the Banco do Brasil account. Just present a photo ID.
