Be careful not to burn your iron

The first thing to do is not leave your iron plugged in if you're not using it. This is necessary because the iron can heat up more than it should and, when it comes into contact with the fabric you are ironing, it can burn.

In addition to this, it is important to keep your iron clean to prevent particles and materials from accumulating in it and clogging its openings. But if, with all the precautions, the iron still burns, don't worry, as there are ways to do this cleaning without having to spend a lot on products for this purpose. See below two efficient and practical ways to clean the iron without leaving your home.

Use white vinegar

The first step is to heat some white vinegar and dip a cloth in it. Then use the cloth to wipe the stain on the iron until it disappears. Then just wipe the iron with a damp cloth. However, if this method doesn't work, you can use warm vinegar mixed with a few tablespoons of salt or baking soda dissolved in it. Follow the same step by step with these mixtures and your iron should be clean at the end.

Baking soda with lemon

For this mixture, you will need to squeeze a lemon into a container and mix baking soda until a paste is formed. Then, apply it to the burnt areas of the iron, while it is cold, and let it act for at least 5 minutes. After that, rub the paste lightly until the stain is completely gone. To finish, just wipe with a damp cloth and let the iron dry.
