Mahogany can reach 40 meters in height and its wood is reddish-brown in color, a little heavy and much sought after for the manufacture of furniture, decorative objects and musical instruments sophisticated.
To avoid overexploitation and, with it, the extinction of the species, mechanisms were created to control the extraction of mahogany and other tropical trees.
