A puma was spotted in Desengano State Park, located in the northern portion of the state of Rio de Janeiro. The image, captured by a camera trap installed by the conservation unit team, was commemorated. “What is the image for us? First to know it exists. Being a top-of-the-chain animal means it has an entire food chain below it that it can sustain. It symbolizes that the park provides conditions for a jaguar of this size to survive”, comments Carlos Dário, park manager.
