Paris, 1930s. Hugo Cabret (Asa Butterfield) is an orphan who lives hidden in the walls of the train station. He keeps a broken robot left by his father (Jude Law). One day, while fleeing from the inspector (Sacha Baron Cohen), he meets Isabelle (Chloe Moretz), a young ________ whom he befriends.
