Curiosity of the day

The first models of scissors appeared in Europe about 5,000 years ago and had the blades joined by a spring. In ancient Rome, as well as in China, Japan and Korea, artisans used shaft scissors made of bronze or iron, similar to those of today. Until the 19th century, they were handcrafted and much more ornate. Domestic use began in the 16th century. From 1761, with the manufacture of steel scissors by the Englishman Robert Hinchliffe, the utensil became really popular.
