More than half of Brazilians have 3 or more credit cards

The cost of living is getting more expensive every day, with demands created at all times that did not exist before. For this reason, more than half of all those on Serasa's base have 3 or more credit cards. The main reason for this is to add up the limits to be able to make larger purchases. This is what a recently released survey points out.

Survey reveals data on credit cards in Brazil

According to the information, the credit card is mainly used for installment purchases, representing 61% of the business. However, 37% use it for everyday purchases, such as the market and pharmacy; 37% for emergency purchases and another 31% use it exclusively for the internet.

There are still 14% of people who use credit in a very dangerous way. They turn the device into an extension of the monthly income. This means that there are still consumers using money they “don't have” to pay expenses, which is a serious mistake in the unanimous opinion of specialists.

Use must be made consciously

The survey was conducted with 3,097 customers between April 2nd and May 2nd, therefore revealing current Brazilian rates. More than half of the people interviewed have 3 or more cards to add up the limits and have the means to spend on larger purchases.

However, analysts point out that this is a dangerous habit and that it can put citizens in big trouble over time. The accumulation of debts can lead to loss of credit and purchasing power in society in general.

How to use credit wisely

The main recommendations are to pay for services in installments and use the brand's scoring system to obtain advantages, such as cashback, miles, discounts, etc. In this way, the card becomes a device that works in favor of the consumer and not against him.

Credit interest remains high and it is easy to wind up your financial life with unrestrained use and without a beneficial purpose.
