The additional 25% of the INSS is only granted to disability retirees. However, these are specific cases, in which the insured necessarily depends on another person to be able to meet basic routine needs, such as food and personal hygiene.
Disability retirees who earn the INSS ceiling, in the amount of R$7,087.22, can also request the additional of 25% and see your benefit reach a total of R$8,859.02, surpassing the ceiling established by Social Security Social.
In 2021, the Federal Supreme Court determined that the additional 25% should be paid observing the beneficiaries determined as established by law. Thus, only those who depend on third parties are entitled to the additional benefit.
As there must be dependence on third parties, there are specific situations that entitle the beneficiary to request the additional. See below:
Download the Meu INSS app (Andoid and iOS), visit the INSS website or call 135. Then, select the “New Order” option and type the name of the service or benefit you want. Afterwards, just follow the instructions on the website or app screen.
The INSS will make an appointment and the beneficiary must go to the location with the necessary documents to carry out the medical examination. In addition to the identification documents, such as the RG, it is essential to take the medical exams and all reports with proof of disability.
