USP offers free courses in various areas of knowledge, covering everything from basic subjects to more advanced topics. In addition, the university offers short courses and some online tutorials for those who are interested in obtaining knowledge on the most varied subjects of the courses offered by the University of São Paulo.
This time, the course with 100 places is aimed at the lay public interested in marine litter issues. The course is called “Garbage in the seas: from understanding to solution; an introduction to the theme” and classes will be offered by the Oceanographic Institute of the University of São Paulo (USP).
How to enroll in the free distance learning course at USP
Vacancies are available on the USP platform for distance learning courses. Those who are interested can register online, until February 23, 2023, through the USP website, by filling out the electronic form that will be available on the website.
There will be no registration fee to be paid. Classes will be fully online and the course can be taken from February 27th to April 17th, 2023. The duration of the course is 16 hours.
The vacancies offered will not be filled in order of registration, but through a public lottery. The draw is scheduled for February 24th, through the Apollo system.
In addition, the selection process will not rely on the application of tests for classification purposes.
Finally, the Oceanographic Institution of USP requires that the student has a minimum attendance of 75%, in order to obtain approval for the course. It will also be necessary for the participant to have a good performance in assessments and work that will be carried out with the support of university monitors.
