In fact, some terrorist acts are committed by the country's own citizens. They are called domestic terrorism, which is when citizens carry out crimes against their own people or government. Unfortunately we had a recent example of one of these attacks.
We are talking about the attack on the school in Suzano. That is an example of domestic terrorism, where citizens of society, motivated by hatred, carried out the crime.
In addition to the recent attack in Suzano, in Brazil there was another act of terrorism that shocked society. We are talking about the realengo massacre in 2011. On that occasion, a young man with a gun invaded a school in Rio de Janeiro and shot at the students there, killing 11 young people.
Another example of the act is the Orlando massacre in 2016. In this act, an American sniper of Afghan origin entered an LGBT nightclub, called “Pulse”, killing 50 people, of which 53 were injured.
