Values corrected above inflation

Each INSS retirement or pension beneficiary receives a different amount, which usually varies depending on the contribution and working time. For those who contributed the maximum amount, the benefit amount paid is usually the INSS ceiling.

Every year, the Government predicts the increase that will be given to retirees and pensioners. However, so far, no official estimates have been released on the percentage increase for the year 2023. However, as provided by law, the amount of the increase must always bear in mind the salary correction to cover the previous year's inflation. Thus, it is necessary to wait for the coming months to analyze accumulated inflation and estimate how much increase should be given.

When will the readjustment be paid?

Typically, raises are given every January. Thus, INSS retirees and pensioners must wait until 2023 to find out the amount of remuneration to be paid during the year., very although the National Congress has already increased the minimum wage to R$1,294, which serves as the basis for calculating the benefits of the INSS.

As one of the objectives of the increase is to correct inflation, it is not always that the INSS beneficiary will have a real increase that can, in addition to correcting the inflationary effects, establish real gain and increase in the power of purchase. For beneficiaries who earn the maximum ceiling of Social Security, of approximately R$ 7 thousand, there are estimates of that the increase in the base salary of retirees and pensioners could raise this maximum amount to up to R$ 7,612 in 2023.

It is important to remember that the increase granted in January 2023 will only take effect from the month next year, therefore, only in February of next year will the benefit of policyholders be paid with the readjustment.
