Why does foot odor occur? Well, the explanation for this starts with sweat. Sweat itself has no smell, however, when we sweat, the bacteria that feed on the dead skin on our feet also feed on the sweat. With that, these microorganisms release gases that have some substances that cause the bad smell.
However, some simple tips help to avoid foot odor or, at least, to prevent the smell from becoming impregnated in the shoes. For this, do not wear the same shoe for several days in a row, and when using a sock, put it on to be washed afterwards. Another tip is to leave your shoes outside when you take them off, instead of putting them away right away. In addition, keeping your nails well cut and feet well washed can also avoid bad smell, as well as the use of talcum powder and antiperspirant sprays when wearing closed shoes.
If even with all the precautions it was not possible to avoid the smell of foot odor on your feet, the following tips can help you. They are super simple and you will only need to use items you already have at home.
Put some vinegar on a cloth, rub it all over the inside of the shoe and let it dry. You can do this with dry shoes or after washing them, with them still wet, the latter being the most efficient option.
You can also leave your shoes overnight with baking soda in them. After that, just remove the bicarbonate with a cloth and the bad smell should be gone.
Finally, try leaving lemon or orange peels in your shoes overnight. When you go to remove them, pass a cloth and the feet will have been softened.
